‘Malabar Wedding' is the first Vishu release

‘Malabar Wedding’, the debut film of the director duo K. Rajesh and A.M. Faizal, both assistants of Priyadarshan, is slated to hit theatres on April 3, as per the present schedules.

Based on the backdrop of 'Sorakalyanam', a custom prevalent in some parts of Malabar, where friends built up false stories to tease the bride and groom, the film is all set to present the rarest of the stories to Mollywood.

The movie stars Indrajith and Gopika in the lead roles, telling the story of a young village boy who falls in love with a Malayalee girl who is brought up in Kolkata, without any understanding of the custom. Also in the cast are Jagathy Sreekumar, Janardhanan, Sooraj Venjaramoodu, Bindu Panicker, Mamookoya, Bijukuttan, Santhosh Jogi, Manianpillai Raju, K.T.S.Padannayil and Harshri Ashokan.

With lots of comic sequences, the film also has some good songs by Rahulraj.

Indrajith and Gopika, considered as a lucky pair had earlier worked together in hits like ‘Chandupottu’ and ‘Vesham’.
